IFS axle shafts

Will a front axle shaft (CV) from a manuel transmision fit a auto matic? I imagine so, they use the same front Diff don't they? A friend of mine was looking at a 1995 auto 4runner that had bad axel shafts in the front and I saw the local junk yard had 2 1986 4runners and I was wondering if the axeles would fit.

rebuilt ones are $69- $109 so why bother with the junk yard
unless its the cash. its a lot of work to trust a junk yard
shaft.
