IFS Skid Plate?

Did the 1st gens with IFS have a factory skid plate? My 88 looks to have bolt holes for one but does not have one. I've looked around a bit and I'm guessing it was maybe an SR5 or V6 option?

It looks a little vulnerable/incomplete down there so I was curious to see what others are running. Factory skid? Aftermarket? Any info or pics would be appreciated.

Yes, they all came with a skid plate. Check junkyards and CL, should be able to get it pretty cheap. They are all the same, so your looking for a skid of either an 86-95.5 4runner OR pickup truck.

Budbuild also makes some heavier duty ones.

Thanks, another missing part! I thought it looked a little funny but I assumed it was some kind of option. I found these two on ebay. The first one has a long list of compatible trucks which includes 86-95 pickups and 2nd gen 4runners but not mine.

I like the look of the 2nd ones but seems like too much money for what it is.

There's also a factory one. Seems pricey but dunno what the going rate is. Don't think I'd want to pay more than $50 for one though.

So all 86-95 trucks should have the same skid plate?

Sounds like you got your skid plate but

Below link is a national junkyard database.

No idea if that level part shows up on here, at least you know where the bodies are for a personal call in.
They used to have a "distance from" selection , but it looks broke now.

Pretty good for motors and tranny's, maybe not so for fuses and bolts
