...maybe the timing belt if I have time. I am working on my brother's '95 4-Runner to help him out. I get the 14 code that indicates the coil and igniter. The car misses like crazy. I checked the wires to see if somebody crossed them. Does the coil and igniter generally give up around 170,000 on these cars? I am also getting lean 25 and rich 26 codes, but that is probably a function of the ignition problem...I hope!
Also, he has a torn boot so I am getting ready to replace the half shaft on the front driver side; any difficulties there? What are the Toyota hubs like to tear down.
Also, he needs the timing belt changed...something about it needing to be changed every 80,000 to 90,000 miles? Any problems here?
The thing also needs shocks and brakes, but that is usually a no brainer.
