Ignition coil connector corrosion - How do I prevent it?

Over the weekend I changed my Ignition coils for the first time and the sparkplugs, I was going to reuse the NGK Spark Plug wires. But when I went to change everything out the sockets on both the Ignition Coils and Spark Plug wires were very corroded. I checked my last set of spark plug wires and the sockets looked new. What is going on here?

The Spark plugs themselves looked fine to me.

When I changed my wires at 100k, I filled those cups with dielectric grease. I'm pretty sure mine will look a lot better that that when I change the wires again at 200k. (I'm at 175k). I don't remember how they looked eight years ago, but I doubt they looked like that.

Yeah dude, use some electrical connector grease, it keeps everything lubed, sealed and clean.

Where there is moisture, the rust demons will surely take over. With my OCD I would probably replace it all. And that's a +3 on the dielectric grease.

I use an anti-oxidant grease called nooxide. It's a conductive grease. Where I use to work we used it in the manholes for the corona drains on our high voltage. If it can keep those clean while under water it can stand up to most anything. I use it a lot in battery terminals and all grounds.
