So I've had my 4runner for a few years with no modifications until I ran across this forum lol. I ride a 2003 2WD V6 SR5 and am a newbie to all of this. The first mod done was plasti dip the wheels, badges and grill. 2nd mod was removing the runner boards, mine were a bit faded and weren't looking so great. Looking into getting into a slightly bigger tire as well, currently I'm riding 265/65R17 that are almost ready to ditch.

Now I am currently waiting on my bilstein 5100s to arrive along with front and rear FJ coils. Is there anything I should anticipate replacing in the process of changing theses out through your experiences? A few members mentioned to get ready to replace cv axles, top hats and bolts which I think I can just pickup at my local auto shop spot.

Nice 4runner, you won't have to worry about cv angles because you have none being 2wd, I like the color with the black accents

265s or 285s?

So after countless hours of reading thru the forum I think I am set on what I want to do with my runner. I just got the billie 5100s F/R and plan on setting the fronts to the 1.75 notch. I have also ordered 09 FJ coils all around and the daystar 1.5 rear spacer kit. With that said I am looking to upgrade my tires to Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and have a friend in the tire business so I shouldnt have to dish out too much cash. I think I have done enough research to find that 265/70/17 with this setup should work with a low chance of rubbing.

Since I could most likely get the tires for a low price I am curious on what else would need to be done to my runner if I wanted to jump up to 285s? Would I need a body lift and spacers for the wheels? I know there will probably have to be some trimming involved to make this all work as well. Any help is appreciated.
