Well smoke cleared on the total and it's good news. I cannot complain.
I have a 2018 Blue 2SS Camaro arriving next week. Automatic.
A friend on another forum got me a GM Supplier Code as a "Prospect". There was a bit of bait and switch - not on the car - but on the pricing - the dealers don't really like the GM deal. I get that.
Anyway - I got a decent price via True-car/Amex program - and the GM Supplier Discount program was a good benchmark - since the car is inbound on the rail they wanted me to come in and contract now - and that's OK as long as the Due Bill indicates the car is due.
I passed the information to my other forum friend who got me the code.
Then I get an email within a day from the dealer saying the owner of the dealership was holding the car as sold to me on arrival and no discount or contract was required and the price would not go up, only down.
:madgrin: Funny that.
Meantime my shoulder is killing me.
But seriously a SS LT1 is 455/455 Hp/torque. A Zed Lima One is 650 HP or north. Not a daily driver. Nice car, not a daily driver. Automatic. The manuals are nice and nostalgic but in urban/city areas the automatics are the way to go. Plus for the cost difference I could have a new 2SS and a new Ducati.
Realistically for the cost difference I can have a new 2SS and new bathroom remodel - LOL. Keep the wife happy.

So today (now yesterday) Driving the week old Camaro SS on the highway 92 heading to the San Mateo bridge a lady in a (oddly enough) black racing striped Mini (maxi) decided not to look and came on top of me in my lane (the far left on the highway).
All I could thing about was "Oh F^ck - new car F^ck" as I cranked the wheel left into the median wall - and cranked back right - an over-correction and as the car convulsed I centered the steering - and.... it planted. Stuck the landing back in the lane.
The mini was two lanes over by this time - the behind highway traffic was - let's say now quite alert - and while I have no idea how that car did not hit me on the initial approach - the reality is the maneuver was an SUV flipper.
Reality here is I was lucky, I should have let her hit me - all I saw was her in the instant coming in fast inches away from me and the hard left was just the instant response - literally she just cranked her wheel over at 70 to change lanes - I was inches away from the median wall when I cranked it back to the right - I immediately centered the steering for the overcorrection - and like I said - it planted in the lane - like a slot car.
So...not a scratch - a pair of new undies :amen:
Let me tell you in moar ways than one this car is wicked :becky::biggrin2:

Have you thought about getting a lottery ticket after this one? You could potentially recoup the cost of the new undies.
