Well the 2015 4Runner did not last long.... under 3 years...

Gutless as they are I think she rolled to a stop onto the tree ring and went to move forward not knowing the ring was there. Launched it into the tree.

Buff right out, eh?

Total?

Hellofalotta damage for one little old dead tree.

Is there more to the story?

No air bags = no total.

thats way more damage than "rolled" to a stop and hit a tree... as long as no one was hurt, the 4runner can be fixed.

Only if this was true...my '07 4Runner was totaled even though air bag did not deploy. There was damage to the sheet metal itself and it would have cost over 15k to repair everything. My '07 only had 65k miles on it with a v8 - bastards totaled it and asked me how much I wanted to accept as payout, I told them 24k minimum. they said no and i refused to accept their counter which was 22k...we eventually agreed on 23k. Screw Progressive (Oppressive ** sorry)

and now i drive an '07 with v6.

OP, I am aware Toyota have been adding more electronic features to the 4Runner...so make sure you test drive the new model if you're looking into them just to be really sure you're comfortable with the 5th gen.

Personally 4th gen is the best of both worlds with 3rd/5th gen but that's not up for debate here

I’m confused by this as well. That picture is not telling the story very well based on the inconsistent damage. Very interesting

Totaled.

Can't see the 4Runner taking that much damage from just a smashing of the gas from a good 6-10ft distance. Definitely would be damage, but that looks like it hit at a good 30mph.
