I'm Back.

I haven't been around in a while, traded my last '03 in on an '08 Tundra in '22. 4runner frame rust monster failed PA inspection, again and I didn't want to replace any more crossmembers.

Fast forward, I just picked up a 2015 SR5 with the premium package, which replaced an '07 HHR that was getting tired.

I am so glad to be back in a 4R.

Looking forward to catching up.

Ahh, the Mid-Atlantic rust syndrome, know it well. It got my '83 Toy pickup so bad I had to do a frame swap, a total PITA :(

Of course the rust package Toyota doesn't mention but includes with all their frames doesn't help either.

In early '24, I had to replace the center crossmember on my '08 Tundra to get it pass Inspection. Then last fall, the shop told me the crossmember in front of the rear axle was failing. I held off, waiting for spring. Then while under the truck while swapping wheel/tires, I noticed the rear crossmember that supports the spare was also dissolving. I located both crossmembers and am waiting for the shop to have time to get in for me. A big PITA, but the truck is still in great running condition and want to keep it.
