I stripped out my R&P a while back and I'm finally taking it to Pro Gear Differential in San Diego, has anyone used them before or know anything about them?

I'm not sure on the price yet but hes going to open it up and give me a full quote with no surprises.

I've got a 2002 2wd Automatic Sport Edition, what is the stock dif ratio, also Im running 33in Nitto Terr Grapplers, what would be the stock gear ratio, and what would be the correct ratio for running 33in tires.

Im going to be towing it out today any help would be appreciated

The only way to get your ratio for sure is to lift and spin the rear wheels. Use the search function and you will find lots of threads about this. Or just have the guy count the teeth when he opens it up. You cannot be guaranteed of the correct ratio by VIN or axle code.

Use search again to find what guys say about re-gearing. I think the most common ratios used are 4.88 and 5.29. Lots has been said about it.

I don't have any experience with that shop. I would ask him to document all of the specs for the gear instal for you, like bearing preload, shim sizes, etc.

And as for gears, I wouldnt go any lower than 4.56. My 4cyl Runner has 33s with 4.30 gears, which I like because I can still cruise at 80 on the freeway. It also corrects the speedo almost perfectly. Say goodbye to freeway MPG with 4.88 and 4.56.
