im looking for the "dynamic damper" for the xfer case

does anyone have a parts vehicle with this on it? i am experiencing a crap load of vibrations and after doing everything known to man, i have narrowed (hopefully) it down to the dynamic damper. problem is, they are expensive, and I am hoping one of my wonderful toyota brethrens will throw me a deal.

its that little rubber thing hanging down off the xfer case. mine is loose as a goose. and have no idea when or why it couldve happened.

Are you referring to that weight thing?
What about it is loose? I'm sure you've checked this, but the two 19mm bolts are tight (meaning it's the weight thing itself that is loose)?

I would have given you mine but I threw it away because I didn't want it to interfere with my custom skid. I noticed no difference with it gone. I would either tighten it down or get rid of it. The bastard is heavy and I doubt there is anything special in it. It's likely a hunk of steel.

10-4. i wont waste my time, effort, or money on this. after switching wheels and tires yesterday, i doubt thats what it is. i think those bilstein 5100s in the rear are just pieces of crap. they wont hold a damn thing to the road.

and no its not the bolts that are loose. its the piece of rubber.

Again, maybe this is silly, but since it's not an active damper, perhaps you can just wrap the thing in duck tape just to see if that helps the with the shaking?

Im looking for one as well, as mine is gone. All i have is the top portion still mounted to the case. lol I hope it didn't fall off on the hwy.!!

i do notice more of a rough ride. although it could be from alot of things. mine went missing about 4.5 years ago. ive had to replace my drive shaft twice. that want fun. i finally had one made that didnt involve the CV joint ends. since then my ride has been a bit more smooth.

i think its there to compensate for the CV joint ends on the drive shaft somehow. IMO
