wow ....103 views and no replies, what tha **** kinda forum site is this, maybe i joined the wrong forum, either everyone is to lazy to post or no one know's anything:(

First off, the swearing isn't necessary. I'm sure one of the mods will edit that out. This is a really good forum for 4Runners, and you'll find that out if you start reading the existing material.

Your post was pretty general, and it's quite possible that in 23 hours the right person with the right experience didn't read it. I haven't done any mods, so I can't answer your questions. But I do strongly suggest that you try the search feature of the forum. A search for "bug shield" found 81 threads, and a search for "horsepower" found over 300.

hey toto,i know how the forum works, been on several good ones for years and i have done plenty of searching on these subjects and there seems to be nothing point blank that i can bank on.thats what im looking for, specific info, this was not a general question as you stated it was a pretty point blank question, like i said maybe there is'nt that much info on this forum..........thanks for your input toto.........:biggrin2:

URD has supercharger kit out for the 2005+ Tacomas. Probably with some mods it'll work in a 4Runner.

Upon searching... bug shield/deflector won't be available until November 2006.

First off, welcome to the site. You may want to chill a little! This site is not like any other car site you have probably been on before. Everyone here is very laid back, sort of a family. You will not find a better source for info and mods for the 4th gen 4Runner. If you took the time to search your subjects you would have found more then enough info on all the subjects you are interested in. Again, welcome to the Family.

Wow...talk about getting off on the wrong foot!!

Scottputty, there are other 4runner forums around. Since you "know" how these forums work, then you should know how to GOOGLE for other 4runner forums, right?:)

If you want to stay on this forum, then i suggest that you tone it down a bit (aka less bitching and whining).

Thanks.

Scott - from my experience, the audience participation seems to go down on the weekend, but on Monday morning, everybody is back on line and adding comments.

About the mods you want to do... You can do many things, do you have a budget in mind? Any places you want to start - i.e. mods for off-roading, mods for better acoustics inside or outside, streetable mods, etc.

The V6 is shared with the FJ Cruiser and the Tacoma, so there are many options.. Borla and Magnaflow make exhausts for this vehicle/engine combination, either of which should add some additional power. You can also change the intake to a Cold Air Intake (from Volant or K&N) which will also help to add some power. After everything else the V6 is still a V6 (until TRD announces the Supercharger for the V6). If you want more torque, you may consider re-gearing the diffs to put more power to the ground (you loose a little on the high end, but...)

Sell it and get the V8...

Looks like you don't have any problems with money nor concern for fuel economy based on your last vehicles...:D

I gained 40 HP over stock just by adding a catback exhaust, intake and dyno tuning the AFR's. My preminition is that the V6 should respond in a similar fashion...

thanks guys

first let me say thanks to the replies(koz-thai-uneek-boston kevin-outrunner and toto)well i may have gotten off to a bad start here, things are pretty crazy and agressive on my other 2 forums i was a part of.i really am a nice guy, just probaly been around those rich stuffy guys to long on the other site.i do know how to navigate this site and search,i don't really have that much time to do a lot of searching.i have the 06 runner with the xsp package and borla exhaust and filter..............my question was there anything else i could do to increase the hp.............i think you may have answered that....yeah there does not seem to be a lot for the v6.thanks again everyone...............scott:D

Wow, 40hp from an exhaust? Are you sure you didnt do anything else? I think those numbers are awesome and I would love to have more power (who wouldnt)!

Exhaust, intake, and dyno tune = 40 HP

There is not that much HP aftermarket for the 4th gen 4Runner. As OUTRNNR stated, your best bet is to add an intake, exhaust and have it dyno tuned. The only other option is a supercharger but it will be aftermarket not TRD which may be a PITA.

The 4Runner is an incredible vehicle with excellent on and off road abilities, stock. There is not a lot of aftermarket support. You will come to LOVE the 4Runner, It has one of the most loyal following of any vehicle, especially for an SUV.
