Well, after being a Taco owner for 5 yrs, I needed to have more room for the growing family. So, I looked around and found me a nice 2000 SR5 4Runner. It has 90,000 miles and a ton of goodies.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and transition myself from lurker to poster.

Thanks to everyone for unknowingly providing me with a ton of info...

hey guys.......how much did you guys pay for your 4runner ....is it 4x4 ? ....i'm looking to get one about the same year 2000+....any info is greatly apreciated ..

I bought mine in April '05 for 18K out the door...2000 Limited, 4x4, leather, moonroof, running boards, CD changer. really the only option i think i don't have is heated seats (and I wish i did.)

got it with 100K warranty. it had 54K miles when I picked it up. I thought I got a good deal. the inside was in good condition and the outside was in good shape as well. new tires.

I am toying with the idea of getting another 3rd gen. 4Runner. They do seem to be going for a pretty penny though. And to the new owners, let me say this:

I finished the paperwork and took her home today. As part of the deal I had them change the belt and pump so it took an extra day to get it.

It has 90k and has goodies like a locker and moon roof. Wish it was a limited but I couldn't afford it if it was...

I paid $13,200 out the door (also includes new belt & pump, along with a 2yr - 24k mile warranty.)

Anyway, I'll work on getting the pics...

Let me toss out a question, too.

What was the first mod you veterans did when you got your new toy home?

I guess 18K was a pretty penny to me - i'd never purchased aany vehicle with the mileage this one had. but my rationale was "hey it's a toyota" and "it's a 4Runner - it's indestructible". so I make sure it gets all the service tune ups at my local garage and I try and baby it most of the time. having traded an S2000, i'll admit that the 4Runner doesn't yet "do it" for me. but i certainly appreciate what it's capable of and I'm really thrilled with it's snow performance. it's a tank. just not my ideal vehicle. But i intend to keep it for a long time. with the wife's SC430 not going anywhere, and the necessity to haul stuff from Home Depot (read: Old School, Will Ferrell), i needed something that can go anytime, anyplace. I'd like to take it to some trails some day. But I have to find them first. in the meantime, I'm saving my pennies to by another S2000 at the end of the year. then we'll each have our babies and the 4Runner takes care of the dirty work - how it was meant to be.

As for pictures, I didn't see much purpose in posting a pic of a bone stock ltd 4Runner it looks like all the other 2000 silverish limited 4R's!

The only thing I'd like that the Limited has is the power seats and I like the multi mode auto's AWD mode.

Leather isn't the greatest stuff when you are trying to hold yourself in your seat when off roading and the woodgrain trim isn't my taste and I prefer the smaller flares and no cladding.
