I'm re****ed

I put my sub and amp in the car this week. I had it in my previous car (a civic), turned it into a plant stand when I got the 4 runner--about 1 year ago--and finally got around to installing it in the 4runner last weekend....

Well it didn't work. every time I connected the power wires a fuse blew on the amp w/ a loud pop and flash of light. I couldn't figure out what the problem was, so I kept buying new fuses and trying different ways of hooking up the power, but no matter what I blew another fuse...frusterating.

I decided to take the amp back into the house and take it apart to see if there was an internal part that I could replace when I realized that I had the power and ground wires mixed up the whole time! :bash:

anyways, I hooked up the wires and right way and suprisingly the amp works fine :bash:

This is my wife's daily driver so she's happy but I fully expected the amp to be fried given how many fuses I blew, so props to alpine for making an idiot proof amp. :bash:

That's amazing. It's a good thing nothing serious happened, who knows what else could have gone wrong from a 'simple' mistake.

Oh well, at least you figured it out and thats good. :)
