Ok so ive read some post and got some ideas on what to do about this but YESSS i bought new rims and tires and YESSS they're totally sweet, and YESSSS they do rub, but only on one side. so here is my situation. It only rubs when i make a hard left turn right on that little fender piece. the sound is so bad it makes me want to punch a baby!! dahh! so im not sure what to do quite yet. should A: cut it a lil bit? B: take the piece off and wait to get a lift. or C: just punch the baby or D: your opinion? thanks. here are some pics of where its rubbing. Im not really wanting a huge lift but i will do a suspension lift if i do one. i still want to get in the garage ya know? by the way Dumas who had the truck before me hit something with it and i already had to pull the bumper out and replace/paint that piece. but ya i dont want to replace that fender again and the rims and tires are the same size as the stocks thanks for your help!!

oh and p.s. i would never punch a baby i just like Dane Cook!

I say just cut a little piece off, and its nice to see another local utahan! its probably going to be a little tough, idk how thick limited fenders are but a good trick is to use a razor like a box cutter and heat the blade with a lighter, then cut and reheat if necessary

If your lift is in the near furture I would take it off and then put it back on. IMO That way your flare will not be cut on after the lift.

it could be a nice clean corner cut no one will notice or it tearing stuff up down there, ive seen jeeps tear fenders off easy.

just my opinion it looks like it would only need like an inch off at a diagonal.

ah yes finally! someone else in utah!!! man i thought i was the only one. thats great! Thanks i didn't even think of a heated blade. good idea! i can get a nice clean cut that way. i was gonna go saw-za (idk if thats how its spelled) so ya im on the fence but i got to do something soon cause seriously i cringe every time i hear it rub. haha i try not to turn left so many times. you should see me in a round-a-bout i go straight through lol!! i think i may take it off and see if i can deal with the looks, if not maybe cut it. im gonna sleep on it anyway. so if i do cut should i cut it like this?? You have family in provo?

i cut mine just a little above where that line is on the pic and it got rid of the problem right quick and it is super easy to make it look factory and clean.

hey rdg! im glad you chimed in ive got some questions, Did you cut all around the flare cause its kind of a wierd (2 sided) piece. did you just take it off to cut it? and one more... did you cut both driver side and passenger? thanks

yeah i think we have the same flares i have the sport and i guess ill have to post a pic or two for ya so you can see for yourself. i cut both the driver and passenger side as well as the fire wall ones as my tires were a lil fat. i cut it with the flare on the car.

im lookin up your pics as we speak! lol im gonna see if i can find one, i know you have a few but ya fat tires look sick though so no worries there!!

ya i dont know why their rubbing, they're they same size, the tread is meaty has heck though, and i think it was from the collision the last ownder had. the bumper on the side looks like it dips in a little bit, the fog light is a little off from what the other one looks like so im thinking cutting may be the best choice cause it may rub even with a lift. im not sure, i just know thise lil flare pieces are a pain to put on

Yep. Cutting does seem to be the best option for you. Have you thought about how your going to do it? I know the Limited flares are pretty thick.

yeah, mine lower varieance is off in the picture, but i put it back on for a road trip and it is about a 1/4 of an inch from the tire with the stock tire just on the driver side, its all from when i fell in a hole and bent bumper, fender, and flare! this is deffinatly from the accident. if you need some help let me know! ive cut lots of stuff with the blade, learned that trick from a guy who trimmed something on my friends jeep.

thanks everyone i got it fixed!! the heated blade worked amazing!! i even got a nice singe on my finger!! ya ya! There is a little hole there now but i dont really care the rims alone make it look pretty rad! ill be posting a new thread here pretty quick with some day pics of my truck im just getting them all orginized so heads up!
