Hey guys, my name is Peter and I live in Colorado Springs. I’ve inherited a 1996 SR5 Sport (I think it’s a Sport) via marriage. My wife’s mom was the original owner (1996), passed it on to my wife Sarah in 2006 for College, and during that whole time, it’s never been off road.
Now I enter the scenario. I’ve drove it numerous times during my 8 year courting period with my now wife, and never really noticed anything special about her 4Runner. In high school I was really into 4-wheeling, but was limited to it by having little money and a 1986 Chevy Tahoe Blaze. Anyways I did a lot of trails, and getting stuck in them throughout CO. Left the 4X4 scene in College and settled for the mediocre 4 door sedan scene up until a year ago.
After spending some time getting to know the 4Runner, my jaw dropped when I noticed the E-Locker. Holy ****. I’ve dreamed about having something like that in high school and here it is. All mine. Anyways the Wife and I have been doing some wheeling and she loves it, and I’m loving it again.
It’s got 175,000 miles on it, and mechanically it’s as solid as any other SUV that’s been driven by non-destructive female types. So I’m totally excited to start building this thing.
So, is this a Sport? What I do know that you can't see from the picture is: 3.4l, Auto, and E-Locker. I'm brand new to the Toyota world, please excuse me.
