So a bit of an odd time for me to join... I've used this forum as a reference for numerous questions and repairs but never joined. Until now, when I no longer own a 4runner. I had a 99 sr5 that we bought with 89k miles and loved it all 70k miles we owned it. We just moved back to MT from a year in MA and ended up leaving it in ND after a major mechanical failure (If you want the story I'm happy to tell it, just want some material for future posts!) Anyway, didn't realize how much I liked that thing until it was gone and am now in the market for another one. I checked out the 3rd gen buyers guide, WOW the things I learned even after owning one for 6 years! After looking at that, I think I'm looking for a '99-'00 4WD limited, or an '01-'02 FWD. I like the multi mode options, as I usually only need 4WD for skiing or hunting trips but we get a decent amount of snow around here so the AWD is nice for around town (See, the things you learn!). Don't know if there are many members here in the intermountain west, but am looking forward to learning more.
