Cool...nice find...unfortunately in New York we only have Shell from that list...gonna have to find the closest shell station
 
That explains the stickers I've started seeing on some gas pumps. I believe the stickers at the Chevron station I use were bragging that Chevron was the first brand to get certified this way.

I had no idea that the detergent contents had been reduced over the past few years, and that's a shame. These new vehicles depend on clean injectors, etc. for their low emissions performance and it seems silly to be stingy with the additives in the gas. Especially for what we're paying for gas these days!
 
That makes me feel good about sticking to Shell most of the time. Before, I only had a feeling that they are of quality gas. Now, I KNOW they have quality gas ;):
 
Thanks for the info. I usually use BP/Amoco and I thought they have the best gas. I didn't know Shell had such great gas.

The only gas I've ever put in my car has either been Shell or 76, glad their both on the list.
 
A local wholesaler bought out the local Conoco that I was using so I've been using that gas for the last 3-4 months (around 4500 miles) There were some fill-ups with Conoco in that time period but mostly this local wholesalers gas. I now will start using the good stuff so I don't develop any deposits :)
 
I think Mobil has cornered the market in NY, just seems like their the biggest and cleanest gas stations, I know of a few shells but they look ghetto and my friend use them to put super in their cars and they usually get bad gas, I'll start looking, guess that why the toy dealer offers fuel injector cleanings every 15k for 150 bucks:p

Who is responsible for maintaining the Top Tier standards? WHo posts this website - I'm scepticle.

ON EDIT: OK, I found some other info on this & it looks legit.

Wondering: How do I find out if other gas comes close - for instance my low price favorite, COSTCO gas?

If Costco met the standard they would be listed. It's decision time now that you know the truth :) Too deposit or not to deposit? :D

What I was saying is there may be other gas that is coming in just below the standard that may be a good deal. I don't know what their criteria is, or how to determine if other gas comes close or is real garbage!

I know what you were saying and your problem is if you aren't a petroleum engineer you will get lost in the science. I like the fact that Quicktrip (which is the cheapest) is also the best. I like that cheapest/best. That's hard to beat :)
 
I even took a trip to my closest Quicktrip (8 miles) just to see where it was today! A little out of the way, but right off the freeway.
