Importing a landcruiser,4-Runner/pickup into Canada

Eventually several years from now the frame on my 85 4-Runner is going to rust out so I would like to know the facts about importing a Southern USA 1980-90 Toyota Landcruiser diesel 4 door wagon model:BJ60/62 or a 1984-95 4-Runner/pickup.Is it worth it? I mean how much money and paperwork is involved? if I were to fly down to Maine or any US state near Nova Scotia and purchase a rust free Southern origin Toyota.
I need the facts as some of my customers I have spoken to give me a different story each.Thanks in advance for replies.

I don't know anything about importing into Canada, but having lived in Vermont most of my life and owning 3 different Gen 1 4runners, I can certainly tell you that you will have a very, very difficult time finding one in the Northeast that doesn't have any rust, especially on the frame. I am now in Colorado and the amazing condition of every 4runner I look at is unbelievable. So I would recommend making it a much longer trip and try to get something from Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, it will be worth it in the long run

You're going to have a heck of a time locating a BJ-60/62. If I am not mistaken Toyota only sent the FJ-60/62 to the USA.

(There are a few grey market BJ-60/62s in the US, as well as a few conversions, but they are rare.)
