In bedded wires on the right rear window

I have a rear view mirror with the temp/compass. Would the mirror be auto dimming also once it said ICE what did that mean. The streets were dry.

There are some in bedded wires on the right rear window (Cargo area) much like the wire to defrost the rear window.

the wires in the right rear window are part of the diversity antenna. which is a second antenna for the radio.

it should be autodimming yes... can you take a photo?

this is mine (which i installed.. but its the same as what was available from the dealers..)

mine says "C" sometimes which i take to mean "calibrate". so i hold down the "mirror" button and do a couple circles till the counter reaches 15, then you release and see if it took. that solves it for me usually on the first try.

Mine looks exactly like yours. But like I said in my post once it said ICE it would alternate with the temperature back and fourth with ICE.

Thanks a lot for responding. This is my first SUV and I have purchased a 2002 and it looks like it just rolled off the show room floor.

ICE just tells you that the computer detected wheelslip, and you should be more careful driving and you could loose control. I am not sure if the aftermarket units have an option to integrate this, but it's a nice feature especially for the un-experienced driver.

I'm pretty sure the "ice" warning is strictly based on the temperature nearing 32 where ice would possibly develop.
My Explorer had the same notification on it's temp display.
I doubt the mirror has any wheel slip sensors attached to it.

You are right, it comes on if the temperature is at or below 37F for one minute to warn for icy conditions. But I wonder when it comes on after that, lets say if it's below 37 the whole time?
