Howdy! I'm a new member but mostly know my way around here.
Was gonna build my 3rd gen but the new baby begged for more room. Also almost bought a pre built 4th gen, but come on! What fun is that! It was 4runnerseths now ultimatefj40's. Currently posted for 17.5k on CL.
Starting with a stock 04 Limited V8 4wd 152k and an immaculate service record! Paid 8k! Has few beauty marks, but with what we do, there will be more! Plus my godsons father owns an auto body shop... Westons Auto in Santa Cruz (shameless plug, lulz)
I hereby dub this " Project Mommy Mobile " as it is my wifey's daily driver.
Initial build list to include:
New OEM hood w/scoop (cause they look badass)
Shrockworks front bumper
undetermined UCA's (uni ball)
Fox 2.5 coilovers w/RR
OME rear springs
Fox rear shocks w/RR
4crawler BL 1, 1.25, or 1.5 (not sure yet)
Also, ext. brake lines and misc. hardware/supplies should put me under 4.5k
Then! TIRES AND WHEELS!!!!
Maybe my favorite part of any build!
The goal is to get her high enough to easily clear 33's and handle well. Eventually move to Allpro LT kit, RCV Ultimate CV's , sliders and rear bumper, roof rack, off road lighting, interior storage, Arb or electric lockers, and some sort of interior cage/hoop (just in case).
We are avid wheelers and are no stranger to modification. Just never tried to post a build before. Any tips or do's/do not's would be awesome cause I never worked with a 4th gen before.
