In wha=t years was the V-8 available?

I ran across a listing in car guru for a 2008 4-Runner, with 150,000 miles and priced about $7,000. The details did not indicate it was 4-WD. I thought all V-8 were $-WD. My '99, SR5 has 315,000 miles on it. I am original owner.

V8 was available for all 4th gen years, 2003-2009. 4wd was offered with both the V6 and V8.

Don’t make any assumption by just looking at the engine.

Many variants of these truck… V6, V8, 2WD, 4WD/AWD… then the various intricacies depending on the trim where the SR5 had smaller brake rotors than the Limited, and the sport came with both…

Not AWD, full-time 4WD.

Thank you all for the responses. It sounds like the Sport Edition is the most desirable.

The Limited is the top of the line model and I prefer it over the Sport, but some others do prefer the Sport.

That being said there are other limited production models only made for the 2008 and 2009 year model, the Urban Runner, the Trail Edition

Limited V8 4WD is A+ number one. Could probably find a GX for cheaper though.

There's two variations of the 2UZ-FE V8 used on the 4Runner.

2005 - 2009 2UZ-FE adds VVT-i and electronic throttle control.

The Sport has the X-REAS suspension, and (pseudo) hood scoop.
What is Xreas exactly?

After a decade, most folks customize their suspension system, and upgrade from the X-REAS, to a lift.

Only the Sport came with the larger rotors, but was an option on the limited.

My 2003 SR5 V6 came with the larger rotors. I think Toyota just threw parts on that they had during assembly. Which could be why a lot of the 4th Gens came with different size sway bars.
