increasing fuel capacity/ secondary battery

does anyone know if there is an alternative tank you can swap out or some kind of extension to the fuel tank to increase volume??? aslo wondering if there is a kit to install a secondary battery, (like the backup batteries the bmw's have and the mercedes)

you can get a extra fuel sell but they are not cheap, as for the battery they have a kit i think search on google.

As for the second battery alot of people have them. I put mine in a while back and love it. Just do a search for 3rd gen dual battery set up.

It has been great. Last month my secondary yellow top kicked the bucket do to some heavy winching. it lasted quite q while but winching is hard on batteries. It swelled up a little and stunk so bad. It woulndt even take a charge. It was nice that you know your main battery cant get over drawn so you always have a good battery to get you home.

Don't buy a battery kit they are a waist of money, build one. All you need is 2 battery's, an isolator, and some 4 AWG wire.

I prefer Optimas they are easy to find so it makes them easy to warranty, and I think they all have the 3 year warranty. And I would stay away from the odyssey battery.

Really having dual batteries is a waist unless you can remove the bad battier from the system when you have a problem. Having a bad battery and a good one can make the truck not start, the bad one pulls power from the good one so the truck doesn't get the power needed to start. Let's say you leave your lights on and you have your isolator hooked up to a switch. You happened to remember to switch it off when you get out so you have one good battery but with the isolator on it can draw the voltage down on the good battier. Truck no starty.... You need to remove the bad one from the system. This is as simple as removing the leads from that battery then firing the truck up and reconnecting them.

I have my winch hooked up to the main battery and haven't had any problems yet and during the snow storm we had I used it a few times. Is there a reason you hooked it to the aux battery?

I love my national Luna solenoid and don't think it was a waste at all.. I got the controller too incase I need to jump the main battery, connect them for heavy winching, or whatever.. it monitors the power going to both and I don't have to think about it or worry about leaving a switch on or off..

You can make more fuel useable

by performing the fuel gauge TSB. In short by lengthening the fuel tank pick up tube youll gain about a gallon of useable fuel.
