indash switch rear hatch opener

Anyone figure out a way to open the rear hatch from a dash switch? I have dogs and would love to be able to open the hatch from the driver seat.

don't think that would be possible without a mechanism to open and close the hatch (like a Lincoln Navigator or something). Otherwise, maybe installing much more powerful struts to push it up? But then there are still the issues of wiring up a momentary switch to the existing release (shouldn't be too hard), and getting it to close itself again (much harder, probably would need the mechanism stated above, or maybe a really crazy pulley system that you could wind it back down with haha!

Isn't the automatic open/close hatch for the handicapped? LOL

Anywayz, i was looking into it by putting the Venza's mechanism. Then i realized that it is slow going up and down. When it rains, snows, and windy --everthing in the back might get wet or blown all over the place.

Just a need a faster way to unload the dogs from the back.

I think the faster way is by hand. Takes 1 sec to get out front door, another 2 secs to walk at back and another sec to open door, total of 4 secs. I haven't seen any auto rear door (honda odyssey, venza, navigator) have their rear hatch up by 4 secs. But having an auto rear hatch is just a conveniency and not a faster way.

Maybe I should have titled this, what's your opinion on installing a hatch that has a switch that can opened from the inside. I get that this is an open forum but what the hell, most of us are looking for solutions, and some ask for opinions? In this case, if you have no solutions then don't waste time posting.

I gave you the only solution I could think of, THEN agreed with Mike that it would not be any faster, given the current opening times across all models with rear openers.
