lol nothing is inexpensive with our trucks.
 
Jacobzky, are the MTECs Halogen bulbs or HIDs ? do you have any pics of your truck with them on ?

I'd def. be interested if they offer the same or better perforance of HIDs
 
The most inexpensive way to make a 4Runner look better, is to put me inside of it. :lmao: :jump: lol. j/k.

I think the chrome exhaust tip is the cheapest thing to make the car look better. ;):

I transferred my broadway rear view mirror over from my old car hahaha

Weathertech floor & cargo liners...well worth it.

Having said all of that, I live in VA and my 2001 Cobra has 20% tint on all side and rear windows and I've never been pulled over, failed inspection or been otherwise hassled by the police. Guess I'm just lucky, wolfgang sounds like he speaks from personal (bad) experience.

Damn, that is strict! I had 20% applied to all windows (excluding windshield obviously). It is sweet becasue the cargo area is basically completely black now!

i just saw this post just now, anyway, i will get back to you about this.

mtec's are halogen and as far as performance they look like an HID especially with the trucks projectors. gives you that "hid-like" look, without the hid price.

But HID is the best.
 
1- removing the cross-bars (less wind resistance and less noise)
2- Map-Light Mod. I love having the interior flooded with light when pressing the Key FOB
3- The exterior cladding (non-painted), I finally tried Mothers Back-to-Black. It lasts much longer than anything else I have tried. I still want to see the results of Aerospace stuff
4- Getting rid of the four wheel locks (locking Lugs Nuts) I remove my tires to much to be bothered by these.
5- Scion HU (cheap on ebay)
6- Replacing the factory paper cone speakers
7- All weather floor mats (a must!)

Cheap thing that I still want to do:
1- add seat heaters
2- add lighting for the window switches.

I have added a few parts (not really inexpensive but worth it though):D

Weathertech mats
Tint front windows
Purevision 6000K HID kit
Yellow bulb in fog light
Chrome side mirror cover
Vent visor in channel sitting in my garage (anybody wants it) LOL:D
I transferred my broadway rearview mirror as well
Chrome exhaust tip from walmart :p

looks like you got some of the best accessories, weathertechs, HID's, 3M clear bra. post some pics. otherwise document your HID install. :beer:

I will definetely need some help with the HID install. I'm going to try using the guide above by 4RunnerRon but its not the same one, I got the kit from HIDworld.com, at first glance upon opening the box the kit looks decently made - but then again what do I know?

shift knob from my scion, hids, blue led (194) in the parking lights, exhaust tip from auto store costs $50 less than at the dealer and looks the same, tints on the front windows, and the black NUTS hanging from my hitch

I put them on and they work but when I turn them on they flicker and then slowly brighten up. Is this normal ?

I'll post some pics and document as soon as the weather gets better. Too cold in NYC ! :D

Yes sir that is normal... enjoy your newly installed HID's.. and i would love to see some pictures when you get a chance.:)

Did you get the 4300K or 6000K?
