Info on these TRD wheels

I only saw gunmetal

Just got this email from parts dept at my dealer. Sent him the part number listed on the TRD site

"These wheels are no longer available from Toyota and according to the “ Parts Voice” website are not available from any dealers in the U.S. Sorry for the bad news."

Bummer. I really wanted the black TRD's. I am probably going to go for the gunmetal SR8. The available finishes will be:

- matte jet black
- matte gunmetal
- matte bronze
- matte brown/root beer

TRD Wheels

I just received them from Ebay & off to the dealer I went.
F.Y.I. The original tpms & lug nuts fit perfectly. I'm eventually getting new tires but I had to see what they looked like mounted.

Has anyone measured the back space on these wheels?
Are they the same as the OEM's (for clearance purposes)?

Examples Only, not depicting actual measurements for Toyota wheels :

I'm putting these on my wishlist, hopefully (wishful thinking), Toyota will release the Black ones before I pull the trigger on the graphite ones!

Don't get your hopes up. I've called a dozen dealers and they all say that Toyota is not releasing the black version for quite some time. Nobody knows a release date yet. If your dead-set on these wheels in black, it looks like you will have to buy the grey version then paint or powder coat them black.

I was dead-set on these wheels but honestly, I don't want to repaint or powder coat so I have changed my mind. I'm going with a different wheel altogether.

You could also wait and see if anybody that scores a TRD PRO puts the wheels up on ebay or craigslist. I know I'll be watching for them just in case.

Yep..... I did say wishful thinking!
The story I got was Toyota was not going to release the BK ones because the will go on the TRD Pro trucks, as mentioned throughout this thread, and the only way to get them from a dealer will be that one will have to have a VIN and a work order showing the originals were damaged before you can even order one. Now, I don't know if any of that is fact, just what I was being told by reputable dealers most everyone knows about that handles TRD parts.

Possible wait to see if any show up on eBay or bite the bullet and settle for graphite.....either way they should look good on a black T4R!

all the TRD Pro press has said that the parts will be available individually, so who knows. the press and the dealership are probably neck-and-neck for getting it wrong.

of note: i saw the graphite TRD Pro wheels on an FJ this weekend. they looked great. sorry i didn't get a pic or two to add to this thread.

I'd like to see the release!
Who knows who's got the "correct" info.....TRD Pro press or the dealers! :spy:

I like the graphite. They look great on my 2014 Nautical Blue Trail. Even better with some Goodyear 275/70/r17 MT/Rs! :)

I agree. I will probably get these to replace factory wheels on my 7 week old black Trail. I think they would look great on it. I feel black wheels would be too much black. Leaning toward 255/80/17 Cooper ST/Maxx at this time. Now I need to end my 'analysis paralysis' and decide on a lift package.

Anyone else have pics of these wheels to share? Thanks--Dave

I love quality parts but all factory wheels tend to have conservative width and offset so that they don't even sit flush with the fender. I want a little bit of poke for the extra clearance and the look so I'll never go with trd wheels as much as I love hub centric wheels that accept stock lugs.

mounted on 285s

Got them mounted on my 285 Duratracs today.

Holy Crap, on a whim I did a search for the P/N of the black wheels last night and low and behold they're AVAILABLE!!! Just ordered from my local dealer since at the $215 ea price the sales tax was cheaper than shipping from Dallas to SLC...

TRD Pro style Black 17 x 7 Wheel (1) PTR20-35110-BK

Tho the link above says the stock OE lugs should work, the info on the Toyota parts side says that the TRD lug kit PTR27-89100 is required (same one as req'd for the older forged TRD beadlock wheels). Info on the TRD website also says "designed for use with 12-mm conical-seat spline-drive lug nuts". TRD site also still says "beadlock ring styling" so it won't surprise me at all if they use the OE lugs like the grey versions do...

Wheels should be here tomorrow so I'll update with official details & pics once they're in hand so all this questionable online information can be put to rest.
