Information needed

Does anybody know the length of the rear axle shaft running from the 3rd member to wheel? I am planning to buy a press and I find 35 inches for 12 TON and 39 inches for 20 TON.
Which one will you pick?

Would 12 Ton be enough to install LCA or similar bushing too? HF got the 12 Ton for $106 at the moment.

Get the 20T.....it never hurts to have the extra capacity, especially for the small difference in price. The added frame strength in addition to the higher capacity is, IMO, worth it.
 
Got a couple in the basement, what exactly do you want me to measure to, where it bolts to the axle housing, the bearing, the??

From the end where the splines are to the flange that bolts to the axle housing, 26 1/4", another half inch to the bearing. To the wheel studs approx 30-31", there's a brake drum in the way, making accuracy a little harder. That one's out of an earlier 3rd gen.

I've done control arm bushings in our Lexus GS430's with it, ball joints and wheel bearings all around on the 4Runner, wheel bearings, and diff bearing in my AE86 rear end, and probably other stuff I don't remember. I do agree though if the price is close and you can physically fit it in your garage, buy the 20 ton, you never know when more capacity will come in handy. I've been lucky enough to work on only CA vehicles so far.
