Informed I can't order 2005 4-Ruuner with V-8 until January

Has anyone else been told they can't order a 2005 4-Runner with a V-8 until January?

I purchased an '04 Limited V8 yesterday (11/14/04) and have been going around to various dealerships. According to one salesman at a dealership they recently sold their only '05 Limited V8. Now, I find that really hard to believe because no other dealership has any '05 Limited V8s. So what I'm saying is that, I think the salesman was quite mistaken.
