ingnition locked

I was camping this weekend with my 89 sr5 and the ignition locked up on me. We had to bang it with a hammer to get it to loosen up. It did it again the next morning but I havent had a problem today. Has anyone had this problem?

I have had this problem with both my mom's pathfinder and my first gen T4R. I have found that if you cut the steering wheel from side to side, it will unlock the ignition. Once the key come out, the wheel locks into place. Bang it from lock to lock and that should fix it. If all else fails, throw some WD40 into the ignition. Good Luck, Sam.
