I have been offered crazy numbers:
Carvana $50,750
Carmax $52,000
Dealership $53,500 with a trade for a 2012 Xterra for $21,500 with only 39K miles
VROOM $54,860 (which I don't trust)
It would be amazing to be debt free and get out of this crazy loan, but I love my 4R. $21,500 for a 9 year Xterra is crazy to me. Once the market corrects I feel like I would lose $10K on that Xterra. My 4R is almost perfect and set up the way I wanted it.

Don’t think that’s it. I don’t believe the 6th gen is coming until 2024 at the earliest. It’s a supply chain/manufacturing issue coupled with high demand.

If dealers are giving you MSRP on your trade-in, couldn't you just make a even swap for a brand new one? :hail:

No - there is at least another whole model year (MY2022) that will be 5th generation and needs to be produced.

The new Range Rover prevokes and Porsche touregalias I used to see everyday are now being replaced by a skittle variety of 4runners with paper plates.
We go through one year of pandemic and all of a sudden, executive-John wants to reliably “go places” too.
I sincerely apologize for those out there with a modest income, who are looking to getting into a 4runner right now. Be patient, be strong!

Just think about how many babied 5th gens will be available to build in to offroad beater trucks in 10-20 years though.

If they had any in stock for MSRP, yes. Problem is, new stock is very low. Presumably the only reason a dealer would offer MSRP for a trade is them thinking they could sell them for more than that.
