Install Trailer Hitch

I have a 2006 Sport Edition 4WD. I need to install a hitch but I'm wondering if you still have to trim the fascia when you do it. That's why me and my husband didn't do it before-we didn't trust ourselves to do it right and the dealership wanted too much money...or is it worth the money? (We've bought a boat and my 4Runner will pull it better and smoother than hubby's '99 Tacoma - plus our friends can ride with us.)
