Scion 6 disk changer

Installed Scion 6 CD changer last night and love the sound quality. It sounds better compared to stock unit.
I thank Noloc and Partsrep for there help and write-up on the D-I-Y installation steps. I got this unit 225 shipped from a private seller at scionlife.com.

I do remember some time back some one posted a message on how to change welcome text on Scion unit. I did a search and no luck. Does any of you know/remember how to change the welcome text?.

I'm glad you got it in finally. I found this link for changing the text. I haven't tried it yet but I'll see if it works tonight.

Programming the welcome text only works on Scion HU out of the 2005 model. It was a rolling change and does not work on 2004 HUs. Run a search on Scionlife.com to see all the gory details in a 8 page post..................

Mark, how do you like sound quality?. I am really, really impressed with it. If your unit model (?) number is T1805, you should be able to change the welcome text. That number is on the face of the unit - right side bottom. What I understand from scionlife forum is that T1805 is 2005 model. T1801 is 2004. Mine is T1802. Year????. I tried once to change the text and couldn't. I will try once again today.

I have a few questions.

I see a Hu on scion.com for the xB. I figure that is the one everyone is talking about.

I see it plays mp3's thats awsome.

Can I change the color to the stock orange?

Will all the radio contols work?

This seems like a no brainer to me. 4.2G of mp3s would be unbelieveable.

Does the text funcation actually work?

I have the 6 speaker system in my 4R will this HU fit the stock location exactly?

By the way...

I tried removing the SCION logo with rubbing alcohol but it wouldnt come off. I think that sign is gonna stay for a while.
