Installed a "Brake Force" brake controller...one issue

I wired it all up and FINALLY found the harness under the dash! It's supposed to show a green light to let you know it has power, and then glow orange when you hit the brakes. I haven't hooked up a trailer up yet so I don't know if it behaves differently, but the green doesn't show up, but the orange does when I hit the brakes.

If green is supposed to let you know that it has power, yet it lights up orange when I hit the brakes, doesn't that indicate that its getting power??

Anybody have a similar issue? Any advice?

My guess would be green light only shows when you are hooked up to trailer showing the brake system is powered. The orange may only sense that the lights are powered which is triggered by your vehicle lights. Green will only trigger when it senses the trailer brakes.

Not familiar with the brake force model so just a guess.

I kinda figured that myself, I just thought I'd ask. It MUST be getting power if its showing orange, so it has to be working. I won't hook up to a trailer until Tuesday.
