Installed a cold air intake and it dies.

I Installed a cold air intake on my 3.0vze and it is cutting out until it eventually kills itself after a minute or so of running. I installed it all correctly, I also turned the screw as far as I could out on the throttle body and it still wants to die. Is there any way that I can stop this from happening or give it the fuel it needs to run right. It does not do it when i initially start it until it warms up and then it happens.:wtf:

Thanks

Also put the idle screw back to where it was.

I see ours came from the same place. I opted for the slightly cheaper setup.

I am a little concerned about the VAF angle, one reason why I went with the half setup. It just has a door on the inside that gets sucked open and resistance is changed as it opens up. It idles really low?

Loosen the clamp on the throttle body and rotate the whole assembly to see if you can get the VAF (the airflow meter) more level. tighten it up so it stays there and see if it runs better.

Aside from that, did you pull the ECM fuse for a few seconds? I'd do that first.

I just went ahead and took off the long pipe that was connected to my intake and used the flimsy rubber one from the stock setup and connected it to the short piece of pipe that had the two rubber hose connections and I will try it tmrw and see what happens I hope that it works. The reason that I could not keep the long one connected is because it would not clear the brake booster in a downward angle. It was a really low idle before I switched it, It still may I will have to wait until its warmed up tmrw when I drive it. Also would you happen to know where that fuse is located exactly. My book is at the shop. Thanks for all of the help I really do appreciate it. I will keep you posted on the progress

Ya I would reccomend resetting ecu and seeing if that helps. Just pull the positive cable and pump brake for 10 seconds and reconnect.

hey if all else fails, make sure those crappy nipples they put in the tube are actually sealed. they welded one on and make a hole with a plastic nipple right next to it. don't get that part.

Just take off the cover to the fuse box just above your battery. It will have a diagram on the back of it, but I believe it's the one in the far right bottom corner.

Low idle... if resetting the ecm doesn't work, or if the vaf angle correction fixes it, I suspect the door in said meter is staying closed more than it should be and not giving you enough fuel.

edit: I knew that didnt sound right... I meant EFI fuse.

I disconnected the battery and also took out the fuze for the EFI and it still did not work right. I then switched it all up again and put the original factory flimsy pipe on it with the filter and the small piece with the two hose connections. It still did the same thing but i did get it to run right by plugging the bigger hose that sits on the engine right by the smaller one. It runs a lot better now. I am thinking that it was getting way too much air and not enough fuel. Is there any way other then unscrewing the screw on the throttle body that I can get it more fuel? Or Does anyone have any ideas on what to do about this cold air intake sitcho differently that they had to do to get it to work. I am just lost on how everyone else's works fine but mine doesn't on the same motor. It is kinda pissin me off. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

sounds like it's not your intake system then, but a vacuum leak on that big tube. I'm trying to remember where it goes. I think under the upper manifold and to something above the back cylinder on the passenger side. Perhaps someone else can tell me what that is? It's some kind of module further back than the egr and I honestly don't know what it is. That might be your vacuum leak though.

It should be ok to block off for now though.
