i actually have a supercharger and after a KN air filter (not the intake system) messed up my MAF sensor and caused an error code, i decided to ditch it for an old fashioned OE paper air filter. It's just not worth it to me for the extra alleged few HP and after thinking on it, the re-oil kit costs as much if not more than a new paper filter.
yours looks nice but as others have suggested, when you go to re-oil the filter part, just make sure not to overdo it, and also let it dry completely - and wipe off any excess oil - before putting it back on. you'll save yourself a check engine situation and a MAF problem.
I don't really know what to think of KN filters. No doubt they are an inexpensive mod to add a few HP. But i also always wonder, if it lets in more air, i know they say it doesn't let in more dirt or particles, but scientifically i don't know how it's possible. Logic would dictate, more air coming in = more fine particles coming in as well. So i think at the end of the day, KN upgrades are just a matter of personal choice but in my opinion, the risk - reward ratio isn't worth it.
