I love these signal mirrors, add a nice touch...here are some shots:

With the signals off they basically look stock except you can see the chevron symbol through the glass where the LEDs are.

They are $220 for non-heated and $270 for heated...i got the non-heated not knowing that my stock mirrors were heated...oh well, lost a feature.

The install took me about 2 hrs. They give pretty detailed installation instructions with pictures. If i had to do it again it would probably take under 2 hrs. It wasnt too bad. A nice weekend project.

I miss the heated mirrors on my 2004 SR5 model. Does anyone with a wiring diagram know if the SR5's come pre-wired for electrically heated mirrors, as they are standard on the other two models (Sport and Limited).

Lives4well, are you interested in selling your original heated mirrors?

There is only a single 5 pin connector for each mirror. The heater wires are on pins 4 and 5. Look for a Green wire with Black stripe and and a White wire with Black stripe. It's probably easier to look at the opposite side of the mirror harness.

The mirror harnesses plug into another harness in the kick panel area. Rather than yanking your whole door apart to check at the mirror, just pull the driver side kick panel. Look for the 18 pin male and female connectors (IA1). If you see the Green with black stripe wire on pin 18 of the female connector then you've confirmed that the wiring is in the mirror harness. On the other side you should see a B-L colored wire. If those are both there, I'd say it's a good chance everything you need is already in the car. The situation is the same in the right kick panel. Look for another 18pin connector combo (IP1). Same color wires in the same position.

Just add the 10A mirror heater fuse and you should be set.

From what I've observed so far, the main wire harnesses tend to be prewired for everything. The accessory harnesses are more hit and miss. If anything is missing, it will probably be the two wires from the kick panel to the mirror (not counting the fuse of course).

You just need to pull your door sill and kick panel to confirm. The door sill snaps on/off and the kick panel has a twist on screw cap so you don't even need a screwdriver. Add a $5 radio shack voltmeter and a 10A fuse and you can test the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.

OK, I had a chance to check the passenger side mirror today. Good news! Everything is there and ready. I measured 12v on pin 18 of IP1 when the defroster was active, 0v when it was off. The wire on the door side of the harness was there too. So basically you can just plug in your heated mirror and it will work.

I didn't check the driver side.

I'm a paint by numbers kind of guy. What exact steps do I need to follow to activate the defroster in my side view mirrors?

2) Push defroster button and enjoy

I only confirmed (see post by leftyrb above) that all the needed wiring is already there and active (all the way to the mirror). The actual defroster element itself is NOT in the truck. You'll have to add it.

just to clarify, these only work with the turn signals and only the turn signals... not when the parking lights are on, or with the brake lights like some others i've seen.. i guess they were wired wrong..??

I can't say. You may be able to just buy the mirror glass for the heated mirrors and pop them in. Usually the heating element is built into the glass. I notice that Partznet doesn't even list a price for the sport/limited mirror glass. Who knows what that could mean. It's also possible that the housing on the heated mirrors is different (size, shape, or ability to safely encase the heat). Worst case you'll need the entire sport/limited mirror assemblies ($218 each...yikes!!!). You might want to give them (or your local parts guy) a call.

I'm glad my mirrors never get cold here in Sunny So Cal. It was 80+ here today. You can surf in the early morning and still make the ski slopes in time to catch the first lift up.

So if i went out and purchased the sport\limited side mirrors with the heat elements i can just bolt them in and I would have heated mirrors? I dont care about the signals, I really want the matching mirrors to my paint.

If you happen to remove your non-heated mirror housings, let us know if Toyota left a prewired harness in place to plug heated mirrors into... I'd like to have heated mirrors too, and it'd be nice if the wiring was already in place to plug and play!

I would def let you all konw, but I seriously doubt I am going to take my door apart anytime soon as time does not permit me to have a large block of time to do so!

I would really change my mirrors more for the color coding though. Heated mirrors would be a plus but I would rather have the color of the mirrors to match the rest of the truck.
