Installed My HIDs

Finally got my DDM Tuning HIDs and got them installed last night. The pics are not great from my phone, but all I had time to take last night.

Only Fogs

Only H/Ls

Thanks for looking. Along with the DRL/Fog mod, I'm very happy with these. I am really glad I went with the 3000K fogs, I like the contrast between them and the 5000K H/Ls

Those look really good. The cut off is pretty sharp.

Actually, I'm not sure, I wasn't given that option. The ballast I was sent is pretty slim though.

Yeah, the cutoff is very sharp, I can't see the squirrel finder effect at all.

I have 5K HIDs in my low-beams and fog lights. People flash me all the time because they think my brights are on. Looks nice.

I'm anxious to see how it is at night as well. I am taking a 3 hour trip tonight from KC to Lincoln, NE, so we'll see how it goes.

Maybe you should re aim your lights a bit because if you are constantly getting flashed, that means you are probably blinding on coming traffic.

Exactly. You should not put HIDs in a reflector housing unless you have good cutoff. Or unless you have projectors to begin with that have good cutoff. At the very least re-aim them. Sorry this is just a pet peave of mine, theres a ton of people where i live with HIDs in reflector housings that blind the crap out of you. Im just sick of seeing it, i flash them too.

The issue isn't you dealing with it -- it is them dealing with getting blinded by your lights. This really is a safety issue.

You'll deal with it??? what do you have to deal with?? It's the other drivers that have to deal with your headlights. Your headlights can put the same amount of extra output without blinding everyone. Don't be ignorant, be courtious and please get 'em adjusted. It really is a traffic safety issue.

You would get those, or projectors like those, and THEN you can put in the HID kit in those. Those are meant for your stock halogen bulbs. Like i said then you could put a HID kit on them, then they would have better cutoff than the reflector housing. The other option is sending off OEM head lights to get hid projectors installed, which is very expensive, but as close to stock as you can get as far as cutoff, and quality. Oh yeah and not blinding the piss out of other drivers.

Glad someone said it. The best way to get HIDs on your rig is to do a retro job. Apparently it could cost from $400-600 if you do it yourself. The retros I plan on doing will cost me about $1K, but that's fine with me. I'll gladly pay for quality and workmanship as opposed to "throwing it all together". I know they will be done correctly and I won't blind anyone. If you want to play, you gotta pay.

Good thing you will deal with it...too bad the oncoming traffic you are blinding have to deal with it also. Hopefully they don't get in an accident because of you but then again the victim of that will just have to deal with it also right?

Gotta agree. The look of your truck is never worth the risk put on other drivers. If i get blinded by an oncoming vehicle and cant see someone stopped in front of me guess which vehicle ill be swerving into...
