The install was just about as simple a thing to do as there is, about 30 minutes maybe...

All I needed was socket wrench...

I have a copy of the install instructions, if you want to see them...

also, here is a link to the guy on ebay i got them from.

his reserve wa $110.00 + $30 shipping, Paypal is running a $15 off $100, so my total was $125. He shipped them the same day I ordered. He also has some for a buy it now price of $150..

I just got some from the same guy on eBay. I bought them from his store for $150. Excellent deal for 304 stainless. I had them in 3 days.

They are Back Country which is one of the best brands out there. Not the crap from China you usually see at the price.

I got them from here...

They normally retail for like $350, I don't know how this guy does it.

holzapfel, you are right about the install, it took me about a half hour and they look good.

Sorry! I don't have a digital camera. They do look the same as yours except I have a black 4 runner.

I debated for a while on getting black steps or to spring for the extra cash for stainless, then I found these on ebay for less than the price of most black painted steps and I jumped on it. I'm still glad I did.

Man, I got to get a digital camera... I've been planning to for a while now...

I'd go with stainless. (Actually I did already)

Here are the Pro/Cons that I see:

Stainless:
-Does not Rust
-Scratches and other minor cosmetic damages can be buffed out
-Usually Costs alot more
-Polished Stainless looks like Chrome (Shiny Mirror type finish)
-Have to clean it more to keep it looking new

Black:
-WILL rust
-Scratches would need to be touched up with paint
-Cheaper

Other than that it depends on if you like the dark black look better than the shiny look of stainless.

Basically I was going for price when I was looking for steps but like I said eariler, I found stainless steps at a good price on eBay and went with that (eariler post).

I see you are in Calif. I'd go with Stainless if you are anywhere near the coast (rusting...).

One other thing to consider is that there are "types" of stainless also. Some are a lower grade and "rust" somewhat. They don't actually get rust spots on them, but they yellow over time and start to look bad. (I had some exhaust extensions that did this - I was told by them it is oxidation (sp?) in the metal over time [aka rusting])

304 stainless does not yellow. Usually the lower the number the higher quality it is *I think*. I have also been looking that up when looking at buying steps.

Some things to consider.

Actually, I just checked for you and it appears the guy sold all of them. I did click on the "List other items" and it looks like he is selling more:

Well! I've purchases a set from this seller about three weeks ago when he has only TWO left. Looks like it's selling well, and he decided to get more. The item was very well made with a simple design and heavy duty materials. Fitment is exellence and is clearly instructed. Best of all is the price. I've searched around and found the same item sale at Autoanything.com for $465. I've installed it on my 06 SPORT and it looks ten times better than the factory tubular. I also found other guy on ebay sale the stainless steel BULL BAR (similar to T&H) for $139 plug $15.99 S/H. I'll keep you guys post as soon as the item arrive.
