if it's anything like the rs3200 plus kit for the '02, its pretty much plug n play. I installed it in my 02 with no probs. don't know how it is for the 4th gens but for mine i'd say the part that took the longest was trying to mount the brain tucked up there in the dash (not difficult at all but takes a bit of twisting your arm to reach up in the dash and bolt it on). for the harness, plugs only fit one way. hope its the same for your 05
