Xreas or not?
Stud extenders or the cheaper kit where you have to compress the spring?
If no xreas and stud extending kit you should be able to do it w/o taking the ball joint apart. Just push down the control arm to allow you to remove the strut/spring enough.

Are you talking about step 7 in the instructions?

I used an air hammer on the side of the spindle and it exploded apart, make sure you support the bottom of the wheel hub assembly for when it falls down.

the passenger side came out with just some hammering.

try to line it up so it can easily slide straight out of the hole and then give it some shots with the hammer, hopefully it loosens out.

Shouldn't have to remove a ball joint (neither upper or lower). But it would be easier.

Try loosening those eccentric bolts on the LCA? Or just pry that sheit down like I mentioned?

Sucks... I hate that stress when you hit snags working on your ride...

Did you get the UCA seperated from the spindle?

It does take a lot of prying and forcing to get the LCA low enough to slide the bottom of the coil over in, I had the old man come give me a hand when I put mine in so one of us was pushing down on the LCA and the other was trying to pry the bottom of the strut into its seat.

just be glad you dont have xreas because that made it harder.

Call a buddy over to lend you a hand.

Good luck.

Damn.......**** was a ***** on the first side! Like they said felt like a rockstar on the rear. Anyway, job complete and enjoying a couple 12 packs of Shock Top with my buddy. Tires next weekend, 255/85 BFG KM2's.
