Installing new front speakers in a 99 Limited... help please

Hello,

I ordered some new front 6.5" speakers for the front doors in my 1999 Limited 4Runner. On Crutchfield it mentions something about splicing the original connectors...

A wiring harness is not available. Cut off the factory connectors and splice the vehicle's speaker wires to your new speaker wires.

Does anyone have install tips or pictures for installing new speakers the way they describe? I plan on doing the install myself and with my dad because install fees are a pain. Thanks.

It is not a hard thing to do. All splicing implies is that you are going to take 2 wires and connect them together. Just make sure you have a wire stripper and some Crimp or Twist on connectors. For a better conection I would recommend soldering the 2 together, but its easier to twist the two and crimp then.
