Installing rear lower control arms

Hi everyone

Is the best way to just install the rear lower control arms with the truck sitting on level ground? Not jacked up?

Will there be any tension in the control arm when taking it off?

Also I believe the torque for each end is 107, can anyone confirm that?

Install them one at a time with tires on ground. The coils hold the truck up. This will keep axle in place when you reinstall.

X2 on this. Then take to a QUALITY alignment shop that will do an alignment. They will align your rear axle first and then base the front off of it. If they dont, that's when you see trucks going down the road looking like a crabwalk.

What do they actually adjust back there with it being a solid axle and these lower arms being non-adjusting?

I know my axle track is still shifted slightly due to not having the panhard bracket after a 3" lift however.

Ok my bad.... thought you were putting adjustable LCA in.

Appreciate this post guys. I am about to work on my rear suspension this weekend, had no idea that it had to stay on the ground to get the control arms off.

As far as the upper and lower arms, which ones has replaceable bushings? I want to re-do all the bushings on the rear suspension.

I pulled the rear tires for a little more room and placed the truck on jack stands. Three of the links went in without issue. On the last lower link the axle shifted a little bit and I used a ratchet strap to pull it back together.

I ordered a bushing set from prothane that has 8 sets of bushings...so I am assuming all of the control arm ends are replaceable, both lower and upper...

If this is not the case, I hope someone sees this post before I go for the swap!

I just put the parking brake on and had someone rock the truck back and forth while i was under trying to get the bolt in.

The lower arms a piece of cake. The uppers are a PITA. I had to sawzall off a frozen bushing on one of mine.
