Installing Shrockworks Sliders on my 5th Gen Limited 4Runner

Hi guys,

Had a question regarding installing my sliders. I was trying to put my passenger slider on the other day and came across a problem. Attached to the frame is a tank?/reservoir with a hard cable protruding from both sides extending to each wheel.

I can install the slider after taking that cable out of the brackets holding it on the frame but then it sits at an odd angle on top of the slider and I'd be concerned about it rubbing/breaking over time. Any one know what this tank/reservoir is/would be? The only label on it is in French.

I'm considering taking it to a local mechanic shop to have them install the sliders. Installation also involves drilling into the frame to make holes for bolts.

Pretty sure that is your XREAS lines and fluid. I have a buddy who has a limited with Shrockworks sliders, but he has aftermarket suspension and got rid of all the XREAS stuff.
 
That's part of your XREAS system. Definitely not something you can remove unless you're swapping the suspension for something different.

A shop won't be able to fix that, but they'll be able to drill holes for you if you're not comfortable doing it.

Regardless, that tank needs to stay and with hardlines attaching it I wouldn't move or twist it far from where it's located currently.
 
The line rotates relatively easy so I could try and find a way to rotate it. I would say that I could install the sliders without removing it, it's just going to make the hose/line be at a weird angle and rubbing so I'd have to come up with a solution for that.
 
i'm fairly certain i've come across another thread on here where they slide the slider brackets under the XREAS line. there were photos--would search for this
 
Doesn't Shrockworks sell a slider that has a cut out for the XREAS? Could be a different manufacturer that I found when looking at sliders. I ended up going with just a generic step for the time being to keep the boss happy until I can afford to swap out the XREAS and put a set of sliders on.
 
^The cutout you are thinking of is for the KDSS bracket that is in a similar spot, but on the driver's side.

I emailed shrockworks a while ago asking them about the compatibility of their sliders with XREAS. Never received an answer. It appears to be a "no."
