My Solara Nav system is in and should be an easy install as i do not need to install an amp since i have the JBL surround sound. However, i was thinking i woould rather do everything at one time and not rip it all out again in future to do mods. So i need you guys.
I need to know from guys whom have done this, how easy and what parts do i need to install the back up camera while having front panels out?
Also what do i have to do to add the XM sat radio while installing nav. what parts do i need and how do i do it?
Also has anyone figured out yet how to play dvd in this nav? i have heard it is possible. Other then that i am looking at an easy install from what i have heard.
One note: I have read here on some threads that a couple guys had less then 100% with GPS even though they installed GPS antenna in same place as others here. Troy at OEMVALUE.COM suggests putting the antenna behind the rear view mirror, which would work for me since i have bought a auto dimming rear view w/compass on ebay (from a camry i think)and then i would be installing both at same time while dash was apart.
However, i think i may have come up with a better plan for the guys who are not getting 100% on GPS, as you all know on the drivers side dash are 2 sensors, some of you like me only have the one sensor for a/c and the other is a flat slightly concave plug. I am thinking of putting the antenna here. This of course is being said without actually seeing the antenna as of yet...does anyone think this will work? since i really have no idea how to install the auto light sensor anyhow.
