I'm new to the whole truck and lifting stuff, but since I've been lurking over the winter I've started to learn. I recently decided to go ahead and start the modding process on my 98 SR5 4wd. I have the following:
-'04 TRD Tundra yy/yb coils and yellow billy's
-rear LC coils(forget the color code and I'm out of town, but they measure 18 3/4" and 19")
-Bilstein 5125s with stud adapter from Toytec
-Revtek diff drop
NOW...In a hurry over the weekend before I had to go out of town, I threw the front tundra setup on the front of the 4Runner.(installed 4Runner top plate and used Tundra coil isolator). I think I may have made a mistake when putting the struts back together. I can't find a good enough diagram to confirm this. Should be strut on bottom, spring, blue boot attached to gold collar, lower retainer under black rubber cushion, mounting plate, top retainer, and then nut on top. I have a couple extra black rubber cushions/discs left over, but I'm not sure if there were 2 on each tundra strut, or if they're extra from the 4Runner struts. GRRR, wish I wouldn't have been in a hurry and paid more attention.
I only drive it 1-2 days a week, I pretty much bought it to drive in the snow/leave at work when I'm out of town. Anyways, I'm waiting to see how much rake I have after I get the rear lift put on Sunday before I decide whether to go with the adjustable 5100s or a simple spacer deal. Thanks for any input! -Grant
