Ok, I Put one in three days ago, I'm a mobile installer at best buy and I am really good at putting these systems in.
My 05 took me 3 hours to do, because I did it outside in the parkinglot at 10 pm using a flashlight... ohhh the fun and joy..
A) I hope you have a BYPASS Unit,
Where you have a LOOP that you put over where the key gets put into the ignition, and you hide a key inside the box.
B) That loop, if you wired it up has to be perfectly over the ignition area.
C) before remote starting it, you have to have the alarm learn the tachometer. So you need the tachometer wire attached, the whole remote start module has to be connected and you put the key in the ignition, turn the truck on and press the valet button, if the blue LED light stays on constant, it learned the tachometer.
D) You cut the starter wire in half, and the green side of the relay pack goes to the key side, and the purple side goes to the starter side.
E) Make sure you hook up the Disarm with no Unlock wire, because if you don't the truck will factory arm itself, and when you remote start the truck 20 minutes later after you lock the truck, with either system (factory and aftermarket) the truck horn will go off, because it thinks that someone is stealing it.
F) There is a jumper on the brain of the alarm, where you can select Positive or Negative output of the parking light flash, MAKE SURE you have the correct one, otherwise it won't work!
I hope that helps!
I included the wiring color codes that you need to look for incase you get lost.
Worse comes to worse, Take it to a best buy or circuit city or somewhere where they know how to do alarms and remote starts. (make sure they know what the heck they are doing because they can screw it up also)
Here are the wires you need to find in your truck to get the remote start to work, and security system:
12volts white - white/red + ignition harness
Starter green/black or black + ignition harness
Ignition black/yellow + ignition harness
Second Ignition blk/red + ignition harness
Accessory blue/red + ignition harness
Power Lock brown/white - plug below fuse box
Notes: The door lock wires will meter while turning the key in the passenger door key cylinder.
Power Unlock grn/yel & blu/yel - plug below fuse box
Notes: The door lock wires will meter while turning the key in the passenger door key cylinder.
The green/yellow wire is the key cylinder unlock wire, the blue/yellow wire is the unlock detection wire. Use both wires and diode isolate
Parking Lights + green dimmer or harness to rear
Parking Lights - red/white light switch or column
Door Trigger lt. green/black - Notes: behind drivers side junction block in a 13 pin plug.
Dome Supervision use door trigger -
Trunk/Hatch Pin lt. green/red - driver kick 22 pin plug
Hood Pin green/orange -
Notes: drivers side firewall in a gray 26 pin plug.
Factory Alarm Arm arms with lock
Factory Alarm Disarm disarms with unlock
Disarm No Unlock yellow/red - steering column
Notes: This is the ignition key sense wire. Using the status output wire from the remote start to ground this wire will disarm the alarm without unlocking the doors.
Tachometer black
Notes: located in the diagnostic plug on the drivers side of engine compartment.
Wait to start
Brake Wire green/white + at switch
