Intake Manufacturer wants Test V8 4Runner

I received this private message so I figured I would post this to see if anyone is interested. The company is in Maryland and would need the truck for 4 weeks. I cannot give up my truck for that long but if anyone near there would like to do it, here is the message. Sounds like a good system.

I'm an engineer with Custom Peformance Engineering out of Beltsville, Maryland. Please check out the website at www.cp-e.com. We are proud to offer the first intelligent intake system for Mass Air Sensor equipped cars.
We would like to get into the truck market and figure the V8 4runner is one of the best ones out there. We have a lot of experience with lexus V8's and would like to use our knowledge in the development of the 4runner intake.
We are wondering if you or anyone you know would like to protoype the intake on their car. With the lexus cars we saw gains of 25 rwhp, due to the better flowing intake and air/fuel ratio tuning. We will need the car for 4 weeks and production should take about 2-4 more weeks. The prototype owner will be given a free intake for use of his/her car.

4 Weeks is too long. If we rent an 4Runner $50/day, it will cost $1500 for a month. How much does the intake system cost? $200 to $300. It is also assumed that they won't mess up your SUV. Hmmm.....not worthed...IMO.

I know 4 weeks is too long, I couldnt do it...i just thought i would pass on the info. From their site the intakes are upwards of $500 due to the fact its the intake plus a air/fuel tuning module...who knows

With the cost $500 of the intake plus a air/fuel tuning module, I would let them keep for 2 weeks max if I happen to have the V8.

Maybe, if someone is on vation for a month without using the SUV, it will be good.

I am the engineer who wrote the private message. I want to elaborate a little on a few things. If someone can leave the car for 1 week of prototyping and then come back for another week of final testing and fitting that would also work. Four weeks is just ideal.

Someone brought up the point of "messing up the SUV", we gaurentee all of our work. Also, the truck would be stored in the shop to prevent anything from happening such as theft or vandalism.

We would also like to make in known that we are up for suggestions from anyone. For example, I know someone stated they like the idea of having the filter completely enclosed.

Well don't forget the V6 owners. More people probably get the V6 than the V8 so there is a large market so keep that in mind.

If you guys do look into an intake for the V6, let me know. I'm in the Northern VA area and wouldn't mind being part of prototyping a product such as an intake.
