Intake Silencer Removal - Follow up

I have a 2001 SR5 and did the ISR mod today. I had a local muffler guy take a piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe and flange it out a bit to match the airbox that I was replacing. It fits nicely!

In the write up at Yotatech the guy says he put a 1/4" tee on the front of the plenum and put one side to the FPR that used to connect to air box, and the other side to what used to go the plenum. When I went to do my setup, the front of the plenum was capped off. So I didn't get a tee, I just ran the FPR directly to that plenum nipple.

Does anyone know what that line was supposed to go to? I wonder if one my truck's 5 previous owners capped it off for some reason.

thats weird. if your runner is running fine you can leave im not sure what they were trying to fix by doing that though

Im pretty sure its normal for that year. I remember when researching how to do the ISR mod there were a bunch of people with theirs capped off and just ran the FPR directly to that plenum nipple........hehe nipple...

The Newer 3rd Gens have less vacuum lines, thus the reason Toyota capped off the one of the plenum.

For my 98, I simply ran a longer hose from the bottom part of the plenum to my ISR mod, retaining the factory hose locations.

to reset the EFI fuse

Aww, I see. Ya she's running fine with the FPR to the plenum nipple. I like your method, however. I may look into having a nipple fabbed onto the tube.
