Intake Silencer Removal Mod/2002 SR5 Sport

I have read extensively about the Deckplate Mod and the ISR Mod...I had first a question about the Deckplate itself...they come in different sizes...what size Deckplate would I want to go with? Also if anyone here has done the ISR Mod with an '02 SR5 Sport...it seems that some years vary and people have to "doctor" in a different way. Thanks again for any help...great people in this forum.

5" is th max I think but 4" is usually the standard and there isn't really a performance gain from going bigger.

With the deckplate installed you should also install a piece of screen door material on the inside around the deckplate ring that protrudes a little into the airbox as it will keep out larger debris like leaves,bugs and maybe a mouse looking for a place to sleep.

Just did this on my 99...great mod if you dont mind the extra noise w/o the silencer. 4" is what I went with. Get new hose clamps to replace the flimsy ones that hold the ISR in place.

i used a 4'' and installed a screen behide the deckplate to keep stuff out also can go with airaid mit for the intake if your lazy
