Intake Silencer Removal Mod

So I looked at putting a throttle body spacer on my truck. After research i learned it was a waste since i have the 3.slow. So i found that i would be better off running a ISR mod. Is that true? Would i be better of doing that or putting the spacer on. Orrrr... Would i be better off putting an intake on? (Keep in mind i'm a broke college student) I want to get some more power and a bit better gas mileage. So if you recomend the ISR what all do i need to do? What do i need to make it legit? So what should i do? Spacer? ISR? Or Intake? If anybody has pics of either of the three. Post them up for me please. Thanks in advance!!!

Do you have any SMOG laws there? In Cali you cant modify any thing engine emissions related, unless Its C.A.R.B. certified.

One of the first things I did was remove resonators off the TB inlet tube; I left the resonator for tha AIR pump, though (that was too irritating). I just used some scrap 3" exhaust tube I had laying around with a couple screw-in barb fittings, and a pair of Specter hose connections.

I don't know if it helped, but the intake is a lot louder. Honestly - if I didn't think it helped a bit, I'd probably put it back, because at WOT the sound it almost rediculous, lol. I also cut open the air box, so that contributed to the noise, too.
