Interesting Motorcycle Facts

I had one in my College days for a year and a half. That is good since I won't be tempted to buy one as a old fart to make up for my lost youth. I got it out of my system at a early age. I always wore a helmet and eye protection, probably the reason I am still here.;):

Been there.... Done that

I rode from 1985 till 1994, and owned 4 bikes in all. NEVER had a crash or accident but, MANY close calls. I have to say that I drove WAY to fast, all the time while on the bike, but never got a ticket in all the years I rode. Just lucky.

I also never had a close call that was my fault. It was ALWAYS in normal traffic patterns where people (in cars) did not yield right of ways (stop signs, trafiic intersections) or people did not check for lane changes in rush hour traffic ( I learned quickly to ride with my eyes peeled and the thumb on the horn ready and waiting).

I finally realized that it was justa matter of time. Sold the last bike in 1995, I haven't regretted the decision, but I do miss it sometimes. Biggest bike I had was a CB650SC Nighthawk 1985ish. I think it had about 70 HP and wouldn't get over 110mph. Fast enough I think!! The 0-60 was pretty damn fast too.

I can't understand how any parent of a teenage boy would let them buy and ride these 100+ HP bikes with no experience. It should be illegal until they have a couple years experience (and a few close calls!!) so they are aware of the increased danger of riding.
